| Podcasts
are a great way to get yourself familiar
with all kinds of artists and styles you
might like to consider for your next
purchase. It is also a very good way of
experiencing Reggae in an alternative way as
many podcasts are de facto non-stop mixes,
often put together by skillful DJ's and
other Sound System personnel. The Dubroom
has reviewed many of the best podcast(ers)
throughout the years, all of which you can
discover in our reviewed podcast pages. Be
sure to also check out the Dubroom's own
podcast. A link to the latest chapter can be
found on the left side of this page.

"INGLAN
IS A BITCH: ROOTS BANDS"
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
September 2007 - This episode of the Jamaica
HiFi' series "Inglan Is A Bitch",
in which we explore the story of UK Reggae,
contains 30 Minutes of music by some of the
most crucial UK Roots Bands from 1976-1979.
Reggae
Music was very much a Studio Music, and fact
it still is. In Jamaica, most Reggae Bands
were simply Studio Bands and artists like
vocalists and Dub engineer would work on the
material played by these bands. The bands
themselves therefore had a repertoire of
more often than not 1000's of tracks.

"INGLAN
IS A BITCH: FAST CHAT"
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
September 2007 - Smiley Culture's
"Cockney Translation" is just one
out of five great examples of the UK's
answer to Jamaican Rub a Dub in the 1980's.
When U-Roy
started to chant over the instrumental
versions played by King Tubby's Hi-Fi Sound
System, many different styles were born.

DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
October 2007 - In this deep DUBWISE
experience, we will visit France, Austria,
the UK, South Africa and Dominica for some
crucial "Fruits Music" from the
last 17 years.
Arguable,
the UK and the European continent have been
more receptive for DUB techniques and music
than America, perhaps even Jamaica. Some of
the strongest drum and basslines are created
right there, in the midst of Babylon, even
influencing people to create music that will
cross the borders of Reggae, but not those
of DUB.
