The
Dubroom reviews a lot of different material, from
musical to educational to beneficial and more.
We've got music, but also material for artists and
producers as well as researchers of more conscious
material. As always, when the Dubroom reviews
something, this means that this website considers
the material at least fair. So don't expect any
negative reviews. When it's here, we recommend it.
Period.

REGGAE MUSIC |
| From
full-length documentaries to video clips,
this is where you can not only enjoy the
sounds of (DUB) Reggae music, but the sights
as well. We are talking about very diverse
material that is not selected persay because
of it's novelty. Historical recordings that stood
against the test of times are offered as
well, TV broadcasts,
interviews: the Dubroom is always interested
in relevant and/or of high quality material
to review and in this part of the Dubroom
video reviews you can find just that.

SMOKIE BENZ
AND TONY TUFF - FULLFILMENT TIME
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2008 - In this video, a German
production, Jamaican vocalists Tony Tuff and
Smokie Benz sing and chant about the fact
that prophecy must fullfill "in our
time".
Abortion,
tribal wars, living inna Babylon is being
confronted with her ugly face on a daily
basis. Especially when you are living in a
so-called Third World country, that is.

PRINCE
JAMMY, A GERMAN DOCUMENTARY
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2008 - Don't understand German?
You might just have a little problem there.
But then, watching 7 minutes of Jammy's
business might in itself be reason enough to
check this video out still.
The video
itself is a 7 minute clip from a German TV
documentary about Reggae. We meet up with
King Jammy in Germany, while he tells his
story.

SMILEY
CULTURE - POLICE OFFICER
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2008 - Smiley Culture was one of
the MC's of the UK based Saxon Sound System
during the 1980's. He was one of the best in
the style of "Fast Chat", which
becomes unmistakably clear in this video.
Although
the theme of the tune is kind of serious, as
the title already suggests, the clip and the
words will definitely produce at least a
smile of the face of the one watching the
sights. It's one of the strong points of
Reggae Music in general, and Smiley Culture
is a true master of it.

MINI
DOCUMENTARY: BURNING SPEAR, JAH IS MY DRIVER
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2008 - Meet Winston "Burning
Spear" Rodney during the first decade
of his carrier, back in Jamaica during the
1970's. Don't miss out seeing him chanting
to JAH "a-capella" style!
And that's
just the start of a mini-documentary on the
man who made a more militant form of Reggae
popular to an audience that would not really
be moved by Bob Marley and the Wailers.

JUNIOR
KELLY - HOLD ON TO FAITH
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2008 - Based on a Dennis Brown
sample, Junior Kelly takes Reggae into a
next dimension with an enlighting and
entertaining musical work in Sight and
Sound.
We start
off with Junior Kelly performing over a
Dennis Brown sample, accompanied by a video
clip that in itself says enough. Junior gets
confronted by many aspects of Babylon System
but simply carries on, while Dennis Brown
chants "Hold On To What You Got"
during the entire tune.
