Owen Uriah

"Heart Of Uriah"

Reviews

This album is packed with good tunes which have those sweet lover's rock and roots rhythms. Owen Uriah is a bredren who writes from the heart-whether sharing testimony and encouragement in "I've Been To The Cross", voicing challenging commentary such as in "Were You There" or telling it like it is in typical Uriah fashion in "Keep It Real", he doesn't disappoint.

The riches of his Christian faith and life experience really bring substance to these songs- and they are FAR from the cookie-cutter variety. Original rhythms, lyrics and melodies. Check the hint of minor-key Abyssinians influence of "I'm Not Ashamed" for a tight roots cut, where the artist affirms his faith amidst a dark and troubled world. To be sure, the sounds presented here are among the caliber of the cream-of-the-crop of any reggae material released over the past year- no exaggeration. Owen Uriah is a singer's singer too, delivering rich, smooth vocals with his signature subtle touches. I am very blessed to have a copy of "The Heart Of Uriah" in my collection and to share on the air too. Don't snooze on this one- order a copy today.
