In almost 73 minutes, Messian Dread takes you to the wide variety of styles within his oeuvre. Well over twenty years of learning experience, often with blood sweat and tears, show just what Reggae Music can do with a man.

15 Tracks, starting of with some deep Roots and a little Rockers, moving over into Rub a Dub ("early dancehall"), and then back to Roots before completing with some serious Steppers.

Messian Dread is both a singer and a chanter, or MC. His many influences therefore range from Don Carlos to Tappa Zukie. He takes his lyrics as serious as his music, therefore adding a dimension that imitators can only dream of. As a musician he is well rooted in various styles within the rhythm of Reggae Music, allways starting with a solid drum and bass line. And as a Dub engineer he takes the listener to deeper and unknown dimensions in the music, unheard in the vocal parts.

It took Messian Dread a year to produce the album. 50 different riddims were created, then voiced, and subsequently the 15 best ones were selected and mixed especially for this production.

SHOWCASE can best be seen as a concert: every track is mixed espcially to preceed the previous and work on to the next. Some tracks will start with the DUB part, others will have a different mix. And there's not a single fade-out, as every title has it's own start and finish as well.

So we're not talking about a collection of singles, grabbed from a dusty archive. This is very much an album in any way you can possibly think of: produced to enjoy from the top to the very last drop.

Star Recordings is pleased to announce a brand new release of conscious reggae music from Owen Uriah, entitled "The Same Yesterday, Today And Forever". Whilst paying tribute to come of reggae's greats such as Freddie McGregor ("Wine Of Violence"), Johnny Osbourne ("Ain't Gonna Break My Promise") and Bob Marley & The Wailers with the "Waiting In Vain" riddim (on "I Surrender All" and "What A Friend"), Uriah also throws in a few surprises such as the provocative reworking of the hit ballad by John Legend (here entitled "We're Not Ordinary People").

Owen Uriah

Is this new release simply a tasteful collection of cover tunes and versions? Hardly! "The Same Yesterday, Today And Forever" captures the Birmingham, UK-based artiste Owen Uriah refreshing some vintage and modern day classic riddims whilst adding his own personal touch to each one.

Thoughtfully reflective of his Christian faith and perspective, this fourth album represents the artiste's own _expression combined with a respectful nod to some of reggae's stalwarts. Make no mistake- this is not about Uriah getting sentimental on us! Each cut from this new release is fresh and relevant, offering a message appropriate for these times.

Filled with heartical praises, introspection and encouragement, "The Same Yesterday, Today And Forever" finds Owen Uriah in top form and as always- genuine.

Recorded, engineered and instrumentally performed by Polo (Gregory Isaacs and many others) and crew at Vibes Productions, Star Recordings is proud to release the forthcoming "The Same Yesterday, Today And Forever".
