DUBROOM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|
|

|
|
LABELS, ARTISTS AND
PRODUCERS |
|
This page is especially created for people who are
actively involved in the production of Reggae Music and
want to find out how the Dubroom can help them promoting
their works.
|
|
|
|
| I want to be featured on The Dubroom, but I am not religious. Do all the tracks or featured labels have to be religious? |
|
No, ofcourse not, as long as your music is not of pornographic or anti-Jah content, and as long as it is dub or (other) reggae. We're all responsible for
ourselves. On the other hand: when you deal with Reggae
Music and you are not religious, you have at least found
a way to deal with the many religious Reggae
releases. |
| Do
I need to make a certain style of music in order
to be featured on this site? |
|
Yes, you absolutely do. The music you make must be (Dub)
Reggae or related. And, equally important, it must have
a certain quality standard. |
| How
do I get my midi files on the Dubroom? |
|
We do no longer keep track of the latest midi-files.
Midi has gone back to the studio when mp3 made it's way
into the consumer's computer players. |
| How
do I get my MP3 files on the Dubroom? |
|
At the moment, the Dubroom doesn't carry any third party MP3 files, but links to other servers which do. In this, the Dubroom is not limited to just one site, but every major music site is monitored and even more. If you're a reggae dub artist, I would advice you to sign up at VERSIONIST, or another music site, or multiple.
On several pages you can find links for artists to
submite their music by means of a public posting on THE
DUBROOM MESSAGE BOARDS,
for example HERE |
| What
are the requirements to get my music on the
Dubroom? |
|
As you can guess, there are many! People come to the
Dubroom to find good music. The policy of the website is
not to review crap, so when it's on the Dubroom, it's
good. And unfortunnately this means that most music
submitted to the Dubroom will not be put on the site. To
spare yourself a dissapointment, it might be fruitfull
to read the list of requirements below.
Here is a
list:
-
The
music must be (morally) legal. No illegal mp3 links.
-
The
music must be (Dub) Reggae or related.
-
Related
music is most likely not to be put on the Dubroom.
-
Related
to (Dub) Reggae is defined by The Dubroom as: ragga,
ska, dancehall.
-
The
music must have at least the quality that is on
avarage found here in The Dubroom.
-
The
recordings must be of reasonable quality, not
practice tape style recorded with one microphone,
unless the music is historically relevant.
-
The
music must be available for free download, and must
be full-length.
-
The
music should not contain any offenses towards the
Creator.
-
The
music should not have so-called adult contents and
should not contain calls to violence, in other
words, no slackness.
-
The
Dubroom will decide where to place the music in this
site.

| I
sent you an email but did not hear anything back.
What's up? |
|
The Dubroom receives a lot of mail, on a daily basis,
from artists who want their music to be featured
somewhere on the Dubroom. It is simply impossible to
answer each and every mail back. When you haven't heard
anything after two weeks, you can safely assume that we
didn't find the time to write back. It is also possible,
that your mail has been received but is already answered
in the Dubroom FAQ. It can also be, that we are on
holliday, but this will always be announced in the THE
DUBROOM MESSAGE BOARDS and on the Dubroom Front Page. |
