September 2007 - The sixth episode of Ian's
House of Reggae covers 45 years of Jamaican
Music.

|
Sure, you can enjoy Reggae Music without knowing
all the details. You don't have to know the
history of this music in order to feel the rhythm,
but it sure helps to feel it even more. and this
is where Ian's House of Reggae comes in.
In this 6th episode, he goes in-depth into
Jamaica's independence from Britain before playing
the 1962 track "Independent Blues" Basil
Gabbidon. After that, he makes a little fun of the
Gospelreggae Industry as he plays Shaggy's tune
"Church Heathen" and Ninjaman's
"The Pastor".
Just two highlights in what is another episode
of obligatory education for every self-respecting
lover of Reggae Music.

HOUSE OF
REGGAE #6
BROADCASTER'S COMMENTS: Welcome back for another show and in this I'm playing tunes covering 45 years of Jamaican music from celebrating independence in 1962 with Basil Gabbidon, all the way through to the big hit of 2007 from Shaggy, while taking in visits to Newquay and Ipswich in England aswell as the Jordan River in the Middle East on an untitled white label (one for the spotters!). Business as usual then at the House of Reggae, why not come in and enjoy the tunes......
