I had heard of King Shiloh, of course. And I had
reviewed a couple of tunes produced by Slimma. But
little did I know about the people behind the two
sounds, and so I didn't really know what to
expect, yesterday.
This changed as soon as we linked up. It took
us only a few minutes to realize our kindred
spirits. Roots and Culture tonight, Jah Love will
flow like the rain that came down in a period of
dry-ness. We shared a couple of reasonings and
meditations, told each other about our runnings
and realized that although satan doesn't like us,
Jah will sustain us for as long as needed.
Indeed, just like with our band Jah Roots, we
play music but our reasonings and meditations are
at least as important. I discovered that the
people behind King Shiloh and Slimmasound have
exactly the same attitude.
Truth be told, a lot of sound systems in the
Netherlands will be dealing with slackness and
vanity. Even them will have to give praises to Jah
every now and then, as in our Reggae Culture you
can not really go without doing so. But the Idren
behind King Shiloh and Slimma will do nothing but
giving praises to Jah, spreading love and good
vibes.
This was very clear yesterday. From the first
to the last second, we had 5 hours of stricktly
roots and culture. The organizers told me they
really enjoyed the good vibes: people were happy
and many, as the drum and basslines made the
building shake in a seismographic intensity.
Several vocalists, including a sister with a skillful
voice, singing and chanting about things that
matter.
King Shiloh Sound system is well known
throughout the planet. They tour over various
continents, but you won't find no arrogant
superstar mentality. These brethren are conscious
and humble Rasta brethren, they told me that they
are depending on what Jah has for them that
evening so that they can share what they receive.
And they have shared, for JAH did have
something for everyone last night.
It's too bad, that there are not that many true
Rasta Sounds in the Netherlands. For it's so much
needed, in a time wherein most people will be
entertained by priests of Babylon. Yesterday, my
home town had a little taste of the power of the
pure-heart dreadlock Rasta. It is a power that is
friendly but cannot be refused. It is a power that
comes from the Creator Himself.
Too much to tell it all. On many different
levels, it became clear how Jah was moving
throughout the whole evening. People were
introduced to the Freedom Sounds of Reggae Music
once again, we were able to link up together and
reason a little bit about possible future projects
and contacts.
To be continued!
