That is to say, June 10th 1997 was the date
wherein I started to gather statistical data for
what was then still a small page with a few
midifiles, a couple of Itations and some reviews.
So I just take that as the official "birth
date", for I really don't know anymore the
exact date in which I started. It could very well
be early 1997, or even late 1996.
What I do know, is that throughout this last
decade, the Dubroom outgrew it's format many
times. It started with midi-files, then MP3 was
introduced, and currently we even have 100's of
Reggae Video reviews!
We? Yes. For the Dubroom remains to be
predominantly the work of I, Messian Dread, but
without all the people who participate, I
couldn't do this.
People who work hard on the right hardware, so
that the site and music and so on can be produced.
People who contribute writings, information, material
to review, and even reviews.
Personally, I was blessed to release 11 albums
and a number of single tracks in these last 10
years. And that's just my own productional works.
I also published articles about conscious
topics, right from the start of the website. This
grew as well, and currently there's several
research projects about a wide variety of topics
related to consciousness. And there's many writers
contributing to the content, while everything is
being discussed further on the (well-visited)
Dubroom Message Board.
Now, on the 10th anniversary, the Dubroom has
become a name in Cyberspace. The independency of
the site is appreciloved by those looking for an independent
view and hated by those that work for corporate
interests.
Give thanks to Jah, the Most High God and
Creator of creation. Give thanks that we live in
this Cyberspace-time, unprecedented in known
history. Give thanks for Reggae Music, that can
make us conscious if we wish to know the truth.
Give thanks as well to you, the reader of this
little message. Give thanks for visiting the
Dubroom! Give thanks for reading the reviews and
articles, downloading the music and other
material, for providing your feedback and
sometimes even financial support!
How long we can enjoy the blessings of
Cyberspace, I obviously do not know. I hope: long.
Personally, I have gained wisdom knowledge and
overstanding through the Internet which I would
probably never have received in the
"Outernet".
I also hope, that I will be able to maintain
the Dubroom for ten more years and preferably even
more, but everything is in the Hands of Jah the
Most High.
But truly, I am blessed and extremely grateful
for these ten years.
One Love,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)
