A slick website, a video created by one of the
makers of the movie "Titanic", a report
on the Discovery Channel and of course, a
book.
Just
a few ways in which this "brand new
discovery" is being sold to a public that
increasingly is bombarded with esoteric teachings
from the occult.
We had the Da Vinci Code in which it was stated
that Jesus was married with Mary Magdalena, had
offspring and died somewhere, leaving his
bloodline to be running through the veins of the
royals throughout the world...
And now we have the "tomb of
Jesus"...
Oh, really?
Not according to Michael Heiser, a scholar in
ancient Hebrew and other middle eastern languages
from antiquity. He has a lot to say about it.
And not just, that it can't be Jesus' Tomb
because Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. If He
wouldn't have, all that He did would have been
null and void. But fortunately, we believe in a
risen Saviour and we don't have to stick our hands
in the sand when such "discoveries" are
made, for they are no discoveries at all.
For example, the "discovery" isn't
really that new: it was already known back in
1980. So if it was really the "Tomb of
Jesus", it would have been known. It was
known throughout the entire archeological world
but for some reason it was never a big deal. In
fact, Heiser already wrote a paper on it several
years ago, too. (PDF)
But now, they say, DNA has been discovered as
well. Several ossuaries ("bone boxes")
occupied the tomb, and all had names. Names like
Jesus, Mary, Judah and Matthew. And they
discovered in the DNA in the boxes, that not all
DNA was related. Does that say a thing?
It turns out, that there are literally 10's of
ossuaries with the names Jesus, Joseph and Mary on
them. And 22 with the name Jesus alone!
And there are many more problems with the tomb.

a special page where you can find everything about
the "Jesus Tomb".
