As you may have noticed, I started the year
releasing discomixes but I have moved on to
release titles in three or four different mixes.
Pretty soon, Jah Willing, I will also release an
EP with 5 different DUBS and I have extra two
titles here waiting to be released. And I have
plenty more waiting to be mixed...
The nice thing is, that all these tunes come
with full lyrics too. This enables me to release
the riddims under various mixes, obviously.
I plan, again Jah Willing as with all of my
plans, to start producing new riddims around the
month of May. Although I'm not planning a solo CD
at this moment, I choose to keep working in the
same style as I did last year. I'll produce a
large number of riddims, voice over them (or get
other vocalists to voice them), and release them
starting around the end of this year and into the
next.
Then, finally, the band JAH Roots of which I am
a member also seems to enter into a phase wherein
we have a perspective on releasing an album.
For years and years we kept planning this,
trying to find ways, and always something happened.
We recorded a number of riddims on my
four-track MiniDisc recorder, but it broke down
because of too much live performances. We worked
to make new riddims, when a key-player decided to
leave the band.
Currently we have five members: two keyboards,
a bass and drum, and my humble workings on voice
and mixing. Imro Fedor (our drummer) and I have
been members since the start (1987), Sure Dread
and Heartical came one or two years later. We have
a new keyboard player and he is working hard on
his part in the music.
We're currently looking for a studio, we even
think we found one, to record music during a
summer month this year. Please pray for us, that
we'll actually be able to record our music after
20+ years of doing performances and occasional
recording.
