3.0 First Test Mixes - Trial 3 (MP3) |
| We
continue our investigation into Reason 3.0
with this third mix. We made some reverb
patches for the RV7000 from scratch and
minimalized the chord instruments to just a
Piano and a Guitar. Some vocal samples,
spoken and even a choir, were added.
Synthesizers and a guitar sample are also
included. Download the MP3 as well as some
Reason files.

 Digging
deeper into Reason. A tight and slightly up-tempo
Rub a Dub-ish riddim was constructed. A simple,
catchy bassline and a drum rhyhm with a lot of
snare samples form the foundation. Nothing much,
but solid. The perfect foundation for some
experiments.
Basically, there are four different elements in
the mix. First there is the drum and the bass and
second we have the chords as played by the Piano
and the Guitar. then there is the pucking guitar
which enters the mix every now and then, playing a
version of the bassline on muted strings. The
fourth element has the vocal samples as well as a
guitar and synthesizer.
The drums are kept kind of clear. No phasers, just
reverbs and the ResoBotVerb patch of the RV7000.
The chords come with a nice Reverse programmed
from the same device. The choir, vocal and synth
samples are run through the ECF-42 Filter.
